Chicago Chapter
Who is LERA?
Originally founded in 1947 under the name Industrial Relations Research
Association, the national Labor and Employment Relations Association (LERA) is
an organization of professionals interested in industrial relations and human
resources. LERA Chicago, one of 63 local chapters, is the only local organization
that brings together professionals who work in all areas of labor management and
employment relations. Our members come from business and labor
organizations, legal and arbitration professions, and academic and government
institutions.

For over 40 years, the Chicago Chapter has fulfilled its mission of providing
opportunities for people interested in labor management relations to exchange
ideas and discuss matters of common interest with outstanding people in the
field. As a member, you will have the opportunity to widen your personal and
professional contacts. The chapter does not take partisan positions on issues, but
works in a collegial atmosphere to foster an ongoing dialogue among labor,
management, and neutrals in the Chicago community.
